I use a wide variety of components, but my favorite ones to work with include molded resin cameos, brass stampings that are plated in rich patinas of oxidized sterling silver, antiqued brass, and copper. Many of these stampings are made from the original dies from the 1800’s. I like to combine different metals into an item of work, such as brass and copper with gunmetal and silver. I begin by selecting my focal piece, either a cameo, crystal, or pearl cabochon, and set it into a bezel cup. I then mount that onto one or more stampings. Some of my work has 3 or more layers of stampings and filigrees. Once all the layers are secure, I accent them with metal flowers, flatback crystals and/or glass pearls to achieve an antique look and feel. My line includes necklaces, earrings, brooches, rings, scarf pins, barrettes, hairpins, hairbands, purse hooks, bookmarks, embellished pocket watches, magnifying glasses and more.

#1. Cameo on Brass Filigree Brooch 34mm x 86mm When making this brooch, I begin with a 40mm x 30mm molded resin cameo which I mount in a decorative oxidized silverplated brass bezel which is them mounted on a 34mm x 65mm lacy tear shape brass filigree. The cameo is adorned with a rhinestone cup link necklace and the brooch is accented with a 16mm x11mm Swarovski® Baroque Crystal. The pin-back has a bail so it can be worn as a brooch or a pendant.

#2. Necklace with Vintage Watch Face 32mm x 51mm The focal point of this necklace is a vintage watch face which I mounted on a lacy brass filigree. A brass bird swoops across the watch face. I then accent the piece with brass and copper metal flowers inlaid with 2.5mm Swarovski® Flatback Crystals. It has a brass chain with a lobster clasp and a 2” extender.

#3. Necklace with Rivoli Swarovski® Crystal & Metal Flowers 37mm x 43mm I begin by setting a 14mm Swarovski® Rivoli Crystal in an antiqued silverplated crown bezel. This is place in an oxidized silverplated brass raised frame filigree and mounted on a 37mm x 43mm silver plated openwork stamped setting. The piece is then accented silver, brass and copper metal flowers inlaid with 2.5mm Swarovski® Flatback crystals. The chain has a lobster clasp and a 2” extender.
